Happy New Year!!

Well, I hope that everyone had a wonderful NY Eve last night. Ours was pretty quiet. We watched a few movies, and we had snacky foods!! Today, I am cooking my FIRST EVER turkey! We were given one before Christmas, and because we knew we were going out for Christmas Day, we decided to keep it for New Years day! I have name him Trevor, and he is cooking right now!! We plan to have all the fixin's:)

Well, I am so glad that 2009 is over!! It really was not a good year for us...yes, we did have some great times, I will say that, btwn health struggles and financial struggles, well, it wasn't the greatest, but as my brother said the other night, no one in our family died, and no one is sick, so we must be thankful for that. I am all well aware of people that are fighting for their lives from Cancer, and that some people have lost loved ones. I am sure their Christmasses were very different and sad this year.

I do hope that 2010 is better!! First thing this year, is we are going to Vancouver to an MS clinic, will end up seeing Anker's sister, and her family. I am told that we will have a late Christmas wth them, which should be fun. Also at the end of January, if I don't have a job, is to go and help my cousin when she has her 6th baby the end of January. I am a bit nervous, as it has been awhile since I have been in a housefull of small children, and a lot of the times, the loudness can get to me, but I am sure it will be ok. I think I am going for a week, and pretty much do what she tells me. It should be fun thing..something different, anyway. She lives in Calgary, so it will be nice to go there again.

One of the biggest news-worthy events this year is that my brother is next in line is getting married!! We are all very excited, and the wedding take place on Vancouver Island. Not sure of the dates yet...I think early June. We met her in May, and in October, and she seems very nice. I haven't spent a lot of time with her...but she fits in with our family so well.

So, our Christmas was very good!! We decided to stay here for Christmas, and I was doubting my decision, but in the end, it was a very good one. On Christmas Eve, we went to the Christmas Eve service our church, and it was the first time in a VERY long time that I had been to a Christmas Even Service. It was very nice, and Anker was in a play (speaking of plays, I will tell you about ours in a bit), a small sketch, and he did a great job. The service was done by candlelight, and the trees they had there were sparkling. Came home and we each opened a present. Christmas Day, we opened the rest of our presents (after waking up at 8), and Anker made us a great breakfast!! He got me ER season 10, so we spent the rest of the day just relaxing and enjoying the day. We got invited out for dinner, so off we went at about 4pm. It was a great evening, we stayed until well after 10:) The roads were good, which is a positive thing about not having any (or much) snow for Christmas. On Boxing Day, Anker and I went to my parents place. We had a great time..lots of visiting, shopping w/ some of my sisters, tea w/ all of we girls..lots of food!! It was probably one of the best times I had at home!! Just soooo enjoyable!!

We put up our tree the end of November..it's a nice tree, it's also the same tree as we had last year...but we went with different colours..pink and white. Sadly, and I don't know why lights do this, but they have burnt out..so we only have about half our lights working on our tree. We will take everything down probably tomorrow or Monday.

Our Church Christmas Play went well. It was held over two nights, and I think the second night was/went better. I think it was very well received, even if it wasn't well attended.I was very glad when it was over, though. I made some new friends, and got to know people a bit better. The memories will long outlast the play:)

I think that's pretty much it...I may write a few more lines this weekend. Happy 2010, Everyone!
